The Wish List · try it out

Three steps, no preparation

  1. Create wishlist

Type in your email address, and the list is there right away – no waiting for an email. The name “My graduation wishes” is already filled in, and you can change it anytime.

  2. Collect wishes

Copy the link from the store and paste it. Name, image and price are added on their own. On your phone, you can also do this right from “Share”.

  3. Share the link

Send the link to everyone, by message or as a QR code. Whatever someone reserves is off the list for the others. They don’t see who it was.

What fits on a list like this

Just a few ideas. Add them with a store link or simply as text.

  • Contribution to a Europe rail pass
  • A good backpack
  • Laptop fund
  • Language class
  • Dorm room essentials
  • Camera, used

After high school graduation, most people give with an eye on what’s ahead – travel, college, your first place of your own. Without coordinating, three travel guides end up on the table. A wishlist pulls together what you actually need and lets people chip in on bigger things: hardly anyone buys a summer rail pass through Europe alone.

Common questions: Graduation

How much money do you give a high school graduate?
It depends on how close you are. Friends and extended family often give $25 to $50, while grandparents, godparents and other close relatives commonly give $50 to $100 or more. A check tucked into a card is still the usual form.
Does a graduation announcement require a gift?
No. An announcement shares the news; it isn’t an invitation or a request. A card with congratulations is a kind response, and anyone who feels close to the graduate can add a gift, but nobody is obligated.
What do you bring to a graduation open house?
Usually a card, often with cash or a gift card inside, commonly $20 to $50. Open houses are casual drop-in events, so guests rarely carry wrapped presents. Anything larger can come from the graduate’s list instead of being brought to the party.
When should graduates send their thank-you notes?
Within a few weeks of the party or of receiving the gift. A handwritten note that names the specific gift and how it will be used means more than a group text. Parents can help keep track of who gave what.
How do I add a big trip?

As a contribution to your travel fund with “Can be given more than once”: it’s back on the list after every reservation, so lots of people can add to it.

Can my parents help manage my graduation list?

Yes, if you all sign in with the same email address.

Can my guests see who took what?

No.

Do I have to sign up?

Only with an email address, and there’s no password.
