The Wish List · try it out

Three steps, no preparation

  1. Create wishlist

Type in your email address, and the list is there right away – no waiting for an email. The name “Farewell wishes” is already filled in, and you can change it anytime.

  2. Collect wishes

Copy the link from the store and paste it. Name, image and price are added on their own. On your phone, you can also do this right from “Share”.

  3. Share the link

Send the link to everyone, by message or as a QR code. Whatever someone reserves is off the list for the others. They don’t see who it was.

What fits on a list like this

Just a few ideas. Add them with a store link or simply as text.

  • Photo book of your time together
  • Good tools for what comes next
  • Concert tickets
  • Contribution to a trip
  • A plant for the new office
  • Dinner with the old team

When someone leaves the team, the club or the town, you want to give them something that lasts. Without coordinating, that turns into a card and a gift card. A wishlist makes coordinating easy: someone who knows the person well creates it, everyone else sees what’s still available and pitches in – from a small contribution to a shared gift.

Common questions: Farewell

Do you give a gift to a coworker who’s leaving?
Usually, if the team has worked together for a while. At the very least, a card signed by everyone is customary. A gift is a kind way to mark years of shared work, but it doesn’t need to be large.
What’s a normal contribution to a farewell collection?
Often $5 to $20 per person, depending on team size and how close people were. Contributions should stay voluntary, and nobody should feel pressured to match anyone else. Even a modest amount from many people adds up to something meaningful.
What should a goodbye card for a coworker say?
A specific memory works well: a project, a running joke, something they taught you. Add a wish for what comes next and a way to stay in touch. The reason for leaving is better left out of it.
What’s a good gift for someone moving away?
Something that packs easily or will be useful in the new place: a gift card for a restaurant near the new home, a travel mug or a framed map of the old neighborhood. Heavy or fragile items only add to the moving boxes.
Who creates the list if it’s meant to be a surprise?

Someone who knows the person well. They get the link only at the end – or not at all.

How do contributions work?

Add several contributions in small amounts that can each be reserved on their own. That way, everyone can see how full the pot is.

Can coworkers see who’s taking what?

No.

Does the team need an account?

No, just the link.

What does the wishlist cost?

Nothing.
